Mo was born and bred in the holy city of Jerusalem as an Orthodox Jewish boy, where the seed of the devotional ecstatic experience was planted. Yet when he immigrated to Aotearoa 18 years ago he distanced himself from his origins. In recent years, however, he has reconnected to his roots via the powerful devotional ecstatic chants of the Sufi Qawwali tradition, finding the powerful healing and transformative qualities of this form. Mo has also trained as a ceremony musician for shamanic work. The Qawwali Collective has performed at the first NZ Spirit Festival and at Voices of Sacred Earth. In short, Qawwali is where devotion meets groove!
