Georgia Duder-Wood

Georgia is a singer, voice artist, teacher and sound healer. A graduate of Toi Whakaari, the New Zealand Drama School, her international and national performance includes musical theatre, jazz, classical, big band, cabaret and Indian/jazz fusion. Trained in classical voice, yoga, naad yoga and facilitation, she trains singers of all levels in both healthy vocal technique and healthy psychological approaches to self expression through voice. She is known for her holistic and empowering approach in private, corporate, educational and therapeutic environments. She has facilitated workshops at many Aotearoa festivals, including establishing and curating the Sound Healing Sanctuary at Luminate.

Workshop Description

A dynamic and joyful approach to singing under the premise that everybody can sing better when we manifest our love of song and singing, and not our fear of rejection or judgment. Simple vocal techniques are applied to liberate voices and there is strong focus is on re-framing beliefs to reclaim the basic human need and basic human right to sing. With skillfully facilitated chant, mantra, call and response and simple song, the focus is above all on having fun in a safe, empowering environment. All are welcome; all that is required is a willingness to be bold, beautiful and brave and make some sound!
