Serena Stevenson is a professional visual story teller with 20 years experience. In 2010 during a well-being teacher training course in Thailand Serena developed a uniquely creative Gigong workshop. 'Emotive Gigong Photography'. Combining her documentary story art, love of participatory story telling and Gigong, brings for the participant a new fun creative way to be body connected.

Workshop Description

Good health can be maintained by regular checks with your body through your feelings. Your body feels out of balance when life meets challenges, to connect with your body awareness means listening to the messages of discomfort and comfort. This is a workshop that combines the 5 body elemental Qi Gong for opening the Qi (life force) in each vital organ and the art of being present with photography. The camera acts as a tool to bring you to the awareness of your body through your emotions. Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is an ancient art of transformation thought to have originated as a form of dancing more than 5000 years ago. ‘Qi’ means breath of air, ‘Gong’ is a general term meaning work or self discipline. Hense term ‘Qigong’ translates as energy exercises. These exercises are soft and gentle, anyone can learn, no special equipment is needed. It is a perfect form of self-health care and reflects the Chinese Philosophy of looking to nature for healing. 5 Elemental Emotion Qigong focuses on the 5 Yin organs of the body.
