Shane is a true modern yogi! His yoga journey began 10 years ago, attending local classes and enjoying the benefits of creating space and personal inquiry amongst the demands of working in the Corporate world, playing music and family life as a father of three children.
He attended one of Power Living’s open retreats where the approach immediately resonated with him and led to him completing his 200hr teacher training with them in 2014. Shane has taught at Awhi Yoga and Wellbeing (previously Power Living NZ) in Wellington for the past 4 years and has a keen interest in the application of traditional yoga teachings and philosophy in a modern context and opening the door of awareness and self-inquiry to as many people as possible.
Shane’s classes combine a strong physical practice with a grounded energy - providing a safe and nurturing space for all participants.
Shane has a passion for music and has played Bass guitar in a number of bands across the lower north island, including opening for Sting at the Mission Estate concert in 2011. Shane enjoys the practice of Kirtan and combines his love of yoga and music wherever possible and is often seen playing guitar and didgeridoo for Acoustic Yin classes which has included classes at the Wanderlust NZ and LoveLake festivals along with Power Living retreats.
A class suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike.
